;andlord raising rent and changing lease

this month all tenant's in our appt building recieved a notice stateing-our leases run from march to march & they are raising the rent. NOW. but i moved in sept! if i would move out in march i would still be charged up untill sept.how can they do this ? they are trapping me either way.

Unless there's a clause in the lease saying they can. They can't do what they claimed what they're going to do.
