need to be compensated

I was a tenant in my apt. for a month and a half when a heavy rain storm hit. i cme in the house to find my 57in tv drenched from the water coming through the roof pouring through the house. i called the landlord told them the situation they asked did i have rental insurance. i said no, but my question to you is if they where the one neglegent in cleaning the gutters shouldnt they be at fault.

No you needed to have renter's insurance. Its no different if improperly installed wiring caused the apartment to burn to the ground. The landlord is not responsible for your loss.
