Whether the eviction letter is legal and how many days notice the landlord must give should be spelled out in the lease. If you do not understand the terms of the lease, you should see a lawyer. If there is no lease, the rental is generally deemed to be month to month and a landlord need only give you 30 days notice to terminate the rental. If their is a lease, and it has not expired, the landlord is required to advise you of the reason for the eviction. You should probably see a lawyer if yuo feel you are being treated unfairly.
