What is the time limit for notification of leaving the premises for tenant or landlord?

If you want to be safe you should give at least 30 days written notification either to terminate the lease and give a forwarding address if you are the tenant. And if you are the Landlord the same rule applies....remember though this is only for a month to month lease, if you have a year to year lease any early termination by either party would be construed as breach and either party could be held financially responsible.

If a lease does not specify the notice required a landlord must give 15 days in the case of a lease less than 1 year in duration and 30 days if 1 year or more. There is no statutory notice requirement for a tennant to end a lease beyond returning possession at the end of the term of the lease.
