Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania
I jointly own a mobile home with my husband. I walked out 5 1/2 years ago. Since then I have maintained my own home in the same mobile home park with my own lot lease. He assumed financial responsibility for the trailer paying all the bills and lot rent.. The trailer was in poor condition when I left and from what I understand is in even worse shape now. In the 5+ years i have had no contact except a chance pass by at the mailbox until a few days ago when he told me he was just walking away from the trailer. He owes a months lot rent and the park charges a $3000 demolition fee for non sellable trailers. I found out that the park didn't remove my name for the old lot lease because the trailer was still in both names. He told me he emptied his bank account and put all his money on pre paid debit cards. There was more than enough to cover the fees but he didn't want to give it to the park. He is on SSDI so he said they cant attach his checks. I work my butt of to try tho keep my home and my car and am deeply in debt and my bank account usually has a negative balance. This type of expense would mean me loosing my home and car. He previously refused to transfer the title to his name alone and honestly. I couldn't afford even the nominal transfer fee if he did. Could I be held responsible for the lot rent and demolition fees with me leaving so long ago and him solely maintaining the home?

Question in 5 1/2 years why didn't you get divorced? Doing so would have shielded you from what has happened since. Yes you are on the hook for the trailer you walked away from.
