Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

Lack of Rental Agreement

Currently living in a rental property for approximately 5 yrs. We do not have a current lease or rental agreement. The last one included a former roommate and the terms expired and the roommate moved out. If I move, am I required to give any notice. Without a lease, what can the landlord hold me responsible for?

Re: Lack of Rental Agreement

It depends upon several factors, 1.) Does your landlord hold an initial security deposit? 2.) One must also look to specifics of the original lease. 3.) In general you need to give 30 days notice on a month to month lease. Please review my website for more specific information at www.AlleghenyAttorneys.com or by calling my office at 412.731.0865.
