Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania
My landlord keeps accusing me of doing things im not doing. He constantly comments on the way my place looks. There is mold growing above the shower and around it. I told him i was having a hard time paying my bills if i could have a roommate and he said no if i wanted to do that he would get the police involved. He said if i couldnt afford it he could discuss options with me to terminate the lease, but when i asked him if I could get it in writing for a lawyer to look over it he said no if i want to show a lawyer i can just show then the lease i signed. I am pregnant and really am having a difficult time living here and there is never any parking available. In the lease there is nothing stating what would happen if i would decided to terminate the lease. Is there a way i can get out of it if i give him a months notice and let him have the deposit? Please help...

If you have a written lease, that lease will control any and all interactions with your landlord. A lease is a binding contract and you are bound by the terms and conditions contained within the document itself. As such, you should carefully review your lease and see if it sheds any light on this particular issue. You should then act according to the terms of the lease. You may also want to contact your local bar association and see if they can refer you to a lawyer who can help you decide how to handle this issue.
