Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

Landlord eviction notice

I have a friend who has managed a gym over 10 years. As part of the deal, he lived in the apartment connected to the gym but no lease was signed. The original owner sold the property a year ago, the new owner accepted the tenant and kept him as the manager of the gym. The new owner is renovating the gym and has told the guy in the apartment he has a week to move. Does he have at least 30-60 days to move, not a week? He has resided at that residence for 11 years? Thanks

Re: Landlord eviction notice

It is likely a verbal month to month lease. Thus the landlord must 30 day notice to terminate the lease.

The landlord cannot evict without the assistance of the sheriff which will require a court order and a court date.

Good luck to you.
