Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania
Landlord filed compliant in error
I paid my lot rent late on month, and was sent a court notice stating that if I didn't pay off what I owed, I would be evicted. I paid what was owed before the hearing date. I was also told not not to worry about showing up for it and it was cleared. Yesterday, I received an eviction notice! I left a message for my landlord and Judge. My landlord called this morning and said she made an error and meant to withdrawl this complaint. This is already on my credit report and all my neighbors saw this notice on the door. Is this defamation of character? Do I have a case to sue her filing a complaint falsely against me?
