Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

Landlord Requests Personal Data

The Company that handles our Mobile Home Park is requesting personal data from me. Age,Work Status and a copy of Home Insurance and a copy of the title to my home.

I furnished them the Insurance policy information only. They sent me a letter that says they want all of the information they requested.

Re: Landlord Requests Personal Data

Age is off limits (only thing they need to know is that you're over 18). By work status, I assume you mean they want to know if you're working. They're asking you this to see if you can pay the rent. Basically, they want to know if you have an income.

If you have other income other than work, and they don't rent to you, it could be discrimination (i.e., if your income is disability income).

In terms of the title, that is a legitimate question. They want to know who owns and is responsible for the mobile home on their land.
