Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

Can a landlord tenant complaint be withdrawn prior to the scheduled hearing?

My landlord filed a suit for non-payment of rent. Subsequent to filing of the suit, the payment issue was addressed, and the landlord accepted that the suit was filed in error and that they wouldn't pursue it. The hearing for the suit is still scheduled at court, but the landlord's office assured me tha I didn't have to appear in court, the suit would automatically become void.

Should I trust the landlord's word? What if I don't show up at the hearing, and a ''judgement by default'' is entered against me even if my landlord's office has assured me otherwise?

Can I request the landlord to formally withdraw the suit? And/or send me a letter providing written assurance that they won't pursue the suit?

Thanks!

Contact the court where the hearing is scheduled if they still have it listed to go on, go to the hearing.
