Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

Landlord/tenant

We have a verbal agrement with a woman who is living in some rental property that we own, to pay us cash each week till she can find a place to live that she can afford. We told her that she is not allowed to have her exhusband there because of alcohol/drug and physical abuse. She called the apt. manager tonight and told her that her exhusband was on his way over to the apt. She was not there. He came and broke in and did some damage. The neighbors called the police. They said they could not remove him from the property because she invited him to stay there and his cloths where there so that is considered living there. Do we the landlord have the right to remove him from the property? Do we also have the right to put a lock on the door so no one can get in? When they have a place to move to we will let them in to get there stuff. The police told the manager that we could not even have him arrested at the time. He said if he does not pay for the damage we can then but not now. Please advise me as soon as possible on this matter

Re: Landlord/tenant

A verbal lease is a lease and you'll have to give them a notice to quit. After that its off to the DJ.
