Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania
lease termination
I just signed a lease last night to rent an apartment. I have changed my mind and no longer wish to rent from them. Can I cancel the lease since it does not take effect until sept 1st?

Re: lease termination
If you and the landlord have both signed the lease then it is a contract. if you have both not signed then it is possible it can be cancelled before both parties sign. You should look at the terms of your lease and see what it provides for early cancellation. You should contact your landlord and speak to him to see if he may also let you out of the lease by signing a release. You should contact an attorney at once who can better advise you after reviewing the lease document.
