Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

What is the legal definition of ''temporary''?

I live on the 6th floor of an apartment building and have knee and ankle pain. A couple days ago the landlord shut down the only elevator in the building for what they say will be 6 weeks for ''updates''. My lease states that the ''Landlord has the right to turn off temporarily any utility or other service to the leased premises in order to make repairs or do maintenance.''

Is 6 weeks temporary? That is 12% the length of my lease! Can I at least demand a rent reduction?

thanks

Re: What is the legal definition of ''temporary''?

Yes, absolutely, however, before you call the Landlord and tell him to pay up, you need to retain an attorney or risk the possibility of making a bad situation worse.
