Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

Is it legal for landlord to ask me to leave a couple days earlier than when the lease is up to do painting and replace carpet?

Sure he can ask but you don't have to do what he asks. Now if he wants you to leave early and you can get something out of it reduced rent or some other concession then I'd consider it.
