Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

Mo to Mo Lease for last 8 mos -

I have a mo to mo verbal lease apt. with a ppty. mgr who happens to be a elderly man whose children all live far from the home we both live in. I also became disabled during the last few mos. which is expected to remain while in recovery till Sept. per my M.D.

I just rec'd on 3/10/06 in the regular mail, a 6 mo. lease which starts 3/1/06 from an attorney on his children's (the owners) behalf. I've paid all rent + utilities on time thus far and actually have a recent letter of reference from the ppty. mgr attesting to my character and responsibility level. The letter contained with the 6 mo lease, states that I must move out by 3/31 if I don't sign the lease. I sent the rent for March to one of the out of state residing son's addresses, minus a small amount asking for a bit of consideration due to my financial circumstances and the fact that several items needing attention in my apt. their parent had'nt addressed though verbally and written to him over the last 2 mos. My thought was to perhaps call someone to take care of the items. Rent for March was cashed. I haven't acknowledged receiving this surprise lease since I need more time to decide! Can I yet remain April & have partial rent taken from the security deposit ($300)?

First of all, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER do a "verbal" lease, whatever that is.

You have a month to month arrangement. Therefore, either party can end the arrangement with 30 days notice, which they have done.
