Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

Money owed on old apartment lease

I left a rented apartment before my lease was up. I understand I owe some money, but do I owe only until they rented the apartment to another tenant or for the full duration of the lease? How would I find out if they did rent the apartment to another party?

The answer to how much you owe should be stated in the lease. If not then I would expect that the landlord should have sent you a letter stating what you owe and his basis for that position. If he hasn't written you a letter by now. You should write him one asking what you owe.

Remember communication is cheaper than suing. Unless the landlord is just mean he's going to take your initiative as a good sign and might be willing to be flexible.
