How much notice should be given by a landlord before you recieve an eviction notice

It depends on why you are being evicted. If you are being evicted for non-payment of rent, the landlord can immediately go the local District Office and file papers to evict you. If you are being evicted for another reason, the terms and conditions of the lease apply. You should read the lease to determine to any notice provisions that apply. For example, I have a lease where my landlord can commence eviction proceedings if my rent is not paid by the 15th day of the month it is due. This is in the lease. If you have a valid defense to eviction, such as your landlord not providing you with a habitable place to live (No heat, no electricity, etc.) you can contest this, but i would suggest that you contact a lawyer to help you do this.
