Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

Roommate Abandonment

My roommate ''moved'' out over 3 months ago. She left most of her stuff at our apartment. I have not heard from her in 3 months. She originally told me that she was going to move her stuff out, and even took a few things, but has yet been back to get the rest of her things. I need her things out of the apartment so I can move in some of my furniture and get a new roommate. What can I do with her things? Can I get rid of them, or do I have to take her to court?

Re: Roommate Abandonment

If you know where to find her, I suggest you send her a letter (by certifed and regular mail) that if she does not pick up her stuff within 10 days, you will consider it abandoned and that you will dispose of it. If she does not respond, I think you can dispose of the items.
