Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania
I signed a new lease in December and moved my family into the home. I had not previously seen the home because we were relocating from another state. Our landlord never provided us with any information regarding lead based paint, nor did she have us sign anything about lead. Upon arrival the house has multiple areas where paint is chipping and falling off the doors/windows. I have tested the paint and its positive for lead. I have 4 children and I'm concerned for their safety. Can I legally break my lease?

Yes, and your landlord is in a world of hurt. Failing to make the lead based disclosures gets the landlord in trouble with the EPA. The fines for failing to comply are steep. You can call the local Bar Association to find a lawyer near you to get this resolved.
