Wage garnishment in pennsylvania

Are landlords in PA allowed to

garnish wages for back rent after

eviction. My landlord keeps

threatening to evict me and

garnish my wages.

Yes, your landlord can garnish your wages.

Ordinarily wages are exempt from garnishment for unpaid judgments. However, Pennsylvania allows landlord-creditors to garnish wages for judgments awarded in connection with a defaulted residential lease. The amount your landlord can attach cannot be more than 10% of your wages per pay period and the amount garnished cannot place you below the poverty income guidelines provided by the Federal Office of Management and Budget.

Your best bet is work out a settlement with your landlord before he or she begins eviction.
