Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania
I won a judment for unpaid rent and posession by the magistrate. The tenant appealed and now I have to file a civil complaint. The form asks me two questions that I don't understand: type of pleading and code & classification. Can you assist?

Unlike normal DJ judgments where all the unhappy party has to do is file an appeal to common pleas court a tenant not only has to file a timely appeal but also has to deposit the rent both back and future monthly rent with the Prothonotary. If they didn't then the appeal doesn't act as a stay of execution of the DJ judgment.
Time to find yourself a lawyer. Filing a civil complaint in Common Pleas court is no easy task. Besides the lawyer could check to see if the tenant has perfected a stay or not.
