Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Pennsylvania

9 year misdaignosis of polycystic ovary disease

I was misdiagnosed by my ob/gyn for a problem that I have had for nine years. He said that it was ''nothing'' and ''normal''. After moving, I found myself a new ob/gyn and was diagnosed with polycystic ovary disease. After talking with my new doctor, I found out that this disease is the cause of many problems that I have had over the years; depression, weight gain, sever cramping, heavy bleeding, cronic cysts (which caused many hospital visits and stays), and other physical alliments.

I wanted to know if I had a case against my old ob/gyn.

Thank you.

Re: 9 year misdaignosis of polycystic ovary disease

Whether or not you have a case depends upon a number of facts not provided by you. In what state was the treatment provided? Is there an effective treatment for your disease which was the standard of practice at the times the diagnosis was not made? Has the delay in diagnosis and treatment deprived you of an opportunity for or decreased the chances for a full cure? What was the impact on your work and day to day life of your undiagnosed disease?
