Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Pennsylvania
I went to the hospital May 2nd, 2010 because at 22 weeks through my pregnancy i started bleeding. the doctor did a bunch of tests and told me my water wasn't broke, gave me medicine for a UTI and sent me home. (washington hospital) that night i went to Magee hospital, they told me my water was already broken, and the baby couldnt survive before 24 weeks. Because I didnt want to have an abortion, I wanted to try and continue with the pregnancy, they sent me home also. I went into labor, got to Washington hospital and found out I lost the baby. After delivery, and I went home the next day, i was still losing a lot of blood. I went back to the hospital a few mornings later because I was so weak from losing so much blood. They told me i lost 2 units of blood, my mom asked the hospital to do an ultrasound & they denied it. Come to find out, the doctor left placenta in me and I ended up in emergency surgery a few mornings later. I went back to the hospital because I was so dehyrdrated ( washington) and they were giving me fluids through my vein. I told the nurse it was burning really bad but she refused to change my iv. Come to find out she was missing my vein, they discharged me, on my way home I looked down to realize they left the iv still in my hand. My hand up my arm is so swollen, I now have to return to my wrist surgeon to see if i need surgery on my wrist again.

what a horrible experience. I am so sorry to hear of the horrific experience that you suffered at the hospital. It sound like you were in NJ. I have handled many cases like this and in some instances, refer more complex obgyn cases to my experienced friends. Call me tomorrow morning so that we can talk about your potential case.
