Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Pennsylvania

med mal question

a dear friend is hospitalized. a year and a half ago he had a kidney transplant and he is having rejection symptoms. he was starting to mend and was due for release without needing dialysis. he took a turn for the worse and will now, not be released. his turn for the worse was due to eating foods containing ingredients he can not safely consume. his only meals are being served to him from the hospital. big oversight. is there any legal action he can take against the hospital due to staff negligence?

Re: med mal question

While diet can have enormous efects upon renal function, I think that rejection is a separate issue. I don't doubt the he has deteriorated because of diet. The question is whether the deterioration is due to rejection or progressive renal failure independent oof rejection.
