How long of a time frame do you have to put in a malpractice suit?

The amount of time that is required to litigate a malpractice suit varies widely depending on the circumstances of the case.

If you have a suit in progress, you need to address this question to the attorney handling the case.

If you are considering a malpractice suit, you should contact an attorney as soon as possible.

Many, if not most, malpractice attorneys will provide an initial phone consultation without charge.

generally, in PA, 2 years from the time you knew or should have know of the malpractice. However, there are several exceptions, for example a minor, a suit agains an agency of the Commonwealth. You need to consult an attorney to understand your rights.
