Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Pennsylvania
My son was stillborn and I think it was due to the doctors. I was having a hard time pushing him out and they were going to give me a c-section and then changed their minds and let me have a natural birth. The doctor who was recieving the baby left with a nose bleed in the middle of labor and had a nurse finish. He then had seizures the next night. They told me it was nothing I did while I was pregnant and they claim it was nothing they did. How can I be sure?

For sake of mind I would review your situation with an attorney to determine if there is anything
in your care during your pregnancy that led to this tragedy.
You have presented limited facts concerning your care. Nevertheless, if your Dr. left you in the middle of labor because of the nose and the plan at some point was that was C-section was to be done, your child's death may well have been avoidable. A nurse cannot perform a C-section. If your labor was progressing abnormally there are many things that could have been done to make your labor more effective. Pitocin could have been administered. Fetal monitoring was undoubtedly in use throughout your labor. Your child would not have been stillborn if he had been delivered while he was alive. If he was being appropriately monitored signs of distress would very likely have been evident prior to his death in utero.
Under the circumstances the questions you raised are appropriate and should be addressed to an attorney experienced in the handling of medical malpractice claims in your jurisdiction.
Good luck.
