would like to know the statue of limitations for filing a medical malpractice suit

In Pennsylvania, two years. (it's the statute of limitations, but I'm always typing "statue" so don't feel bad ).

Some exceptions may extend the time. If the injury wasn't discovered, or if the patient was a minor, for example. But it's safest to sue within two years of the treatment.

A new statute changed the law in March of this year, adding a 7-year statute of repose, but this only applies to cases arising after this med mal "reform" took effect, but suffice to say it gets even more complicated.
