To have my attorney go over all my bills and amount od deduction from my settlement?

Absolutely, your attorney is your legal representative & he is allowed to do whatever you authorize him to do; however, the concerned authority before which he is to represent you, might ask for a certain instrument to confirm the legality of the representation such as a Power of Attorney or simply a written authorization from your side, so make sure to specify which are the exact issues that he is authorized to do on your behalf.

Attorneys are supposed to provide their clients with an itemized list of the expenses and deductions. Clients are also entitled to a copy of their file. Attorneys should also respond to reasonable requests for information. I do not believe that an attorney, however, has to sit down with his or her client and explain each and every expense especially when the information will be explicit in the itemization that is provided.
