Declination of case

Can an attorney after almost two years, just refer me to another attorney? My case is almost at the end of the Statueof Limitations and my attorney never even filed my lawsuit. The letter I received from my attorney states I must file my lawsuit before the time runs out. I only have a little over a month to file and even if I find another attorney, I'm not sure we will have time to file. I can't believe that after almost two years, my attorney can just drop me and make me start all over. There has to be a rule against this. Please help me.

Sorry, but there isn't any rule against an atty bailing at the last moment. However, it doesn't take much time to get a Summons filed, which will stop the time clock from running. The bigger problem will be finding a qualified, experienced atty who will want to take on your case w/ short notice. If your prior atty bailed on you, there may be a problem with your case that your atty saw that you are not aware of. I'll be happy to "look" at your case.
