Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania

defamation of character

If someone publicly announces, in a bar, that you have been sexually active with the owner of a company you work for, can he be held accountable for making false accusations and destroying your credibility? Never being personally introduced to this person, how is he allowed to undermine my skills and experience? This person does have a personal grudge against the owner of this company, but that should not give him the right to involve me in his attack of this person. I have the ability to do this job and have worked extremely hard to bring this company back to life. I have done nothing illegal, immoral or illicit. I do not appreciate being discussed, in a bar, in such a fashion.

Re: defamation of character

It sounds as if the person defamed you and under law could be held responsible. The problem is identifying whether the person has sufficient assets to satisfy any potential judgment. Feel free to call me 215-636-0200 with further info.
