they drilled a hole in my gas tank do I have a case?

I had an amplifier installed into the trunk of my car by a former employee of Best Buy Inc who has since been terminated because of damages to customer�s cars. After the amplifier was installed in my car I began to notice an odor of gas coming from my car. I asked the installer to check and make sure that he didn�t damage any part of my car and I was told that everything was ok. I continued to drive my car for and continued to notice a very strong odor of gasoline coming from my car. I took my car back to the installers on two other occasions I was told that the car was fine and any damage was not caused by the install. I was suffering from nausea, dizziness, and sever headaches.I was told by Midas technicians that I had a hole in the top of my gas tank. The hole in my gas tank directly lined up with the hole drilled in the trunk by the installer where he mounted the amplifier.I was forced to drop all of my courses at school this semester because I was scared to drive my own car and may not receive my financial aid next semester because of this.

Do I have a case? I had one lawyer tell me that he could get me 50,000 is this a realistic estimate?

While it sounds like you have a case, I have a problem with a lawyer telling you that he could get you 50,000.00. First, a lawyer shouldn't express an opinion like that unless he has all the facts and has conducted discovery. In evaluating your case, the key question is "do you have medical evidence to support your complaints, and link up your exposure to gasoline to your problems?" If not, your casse is only worth your economic damages. If yes, then many factors have to be considered, before evaluating the value of your case. In any event, I would have to know many more facts before telling you the value of your case.
