Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania

Is my Lawyer Right

My wife was in an automobile accident (Reading, PA) 3 1/2 years while she was 6 months pregnant. We obtained a lawyer at that time and we are still in the waiting phase.

I talked to my lawyer today and he stats that we must wait for the defense team to be ready to go to trial and they can take as long as they want except for this thing called a ''2 year inactivity rule''. He has not filled a court date or anything that would speed up the process.

My question is..

Is this correct that we must wait for the other team to be ready?

Can you think of something that I can say or do to speed up the process?

Can we also add a suit for our child who is now 3 because her mother is so hurt that she can;t do things with her?

Thanks and any advice would be helpful.

They cant wait forever. Ask your lawyer if the case has ever been adjourned. Has there been an arbitration?

THe wheels of justice do move slowly sometimes, sometimes the lawyer asks for cases to be put off. Is your lawyer expereinced at this type of work? AS to you child, that is a claim for you wife to lodge as part of her damages.
