Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania

I live in an apartment complex and was leaving for work when I slipped and fell on a patch of ice. It happened 3 days after a blizzard and no salt was in the area of the ice. The fall occurred on a common walkway. In fact, it happened minutes ago. My one finger feels like it may be broken and my back is sore. What is the time frame for which I have to go to the hospital, file a claim, etc.? Any other advice for the situation?

Sorry you're hurt. 1. If hurt get med treatment- Hosp ER of your family doctor. 2. Take photos ASAP of condition of area where you fell. Take many photos from various angles showing close up & far away. 3. You have 2 years from date of incident to file a formal law suit, but you don't want to wait that long. You should contact an experienced injury lawyer to help you. I have handled these types of cases for over 25 years. Please contact me if you want to discuss further. There is no attorney fee unless we make a monetary recovery. In any case, good luck!!

Please contact me for a free consultation at one of my 6 office locations. There is no fee, unless a settlement or judgment in your favor is reached. You should seek immediate medical attention, either from a ER or family doctor and follow their recommendations. The incident should also be immediatley reported to the apartment complex. If possible, take photos of the scene.

The following steps should be taken:

1.Photograph the area depicting deficiences such as failure to shovel, salt or maintain the area.

2Attend to your medical condition. If you are experiencing pain and/or discoloration and/or limitation of motion you should go to the Emergency Room

3.Notify the managment Company or owner of the problem and document with whom you spoke.

Do not speak with an insurance company or risk management company. Do not provide any written and or recorded statements.

4.Consult and retain experienced counsel to protect your interests. No pun intended, this can be a slippery slope.

Our firm litigates and settles personal injury cases and have done so for over 25 years. We are located in Montgomery county, minutes from Plymouth Meeting and handle cases in the five county area.

Time is not an issue, for now. First, get the proper medical treatment. Call me if you need suggestions. Don't talk to anybody about how it happened--you may say something to somebody about how you fell that may come back to haunt you later. Figure out which lawyer you think you will feel comfortable working with, and make an appointment with that atty ASAP--let him or her give you guidance from there. In a slip and fall case such as yours, don't think you will be able to handle the matter w/o an experienced personal injury atty--it's a very tricky area of the law, and you don't know what you don't know! Feel free to check me out on my website (www.senker.com). Please call if you want to discuss. My office, in Plymouth Meeting, is "around the corner" from you.
