Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania
Medical Attention
My husband and son were in an automobile accident on 07-06-04. hey have seek attention from a chiropracto. My question is accouding to PA law, how soon do they have to seek emergency room or personal physcian attention? Is there a statue of limitations? I ask ths question because our primary doctor is away on vacation, and the acting physcian will not be in until 07-13-04.

Re: Medical Attention
The sooner after the accident, the better. If they are in severe pain, they should go the emergency room. While chiropractors can be very helpful in the treatment of certain injuries, they are not "medical doctors". Any costs should be paid in full by your own car insurance company. Finally, there is no "Statute of Limitations" concerning how soon you see a doctor, the longer you wait, the more it could possibly be harmful to you, both medically and legally. The actual statute of limitations in a motor vehcile case in PA is 2 years. Any further questions, please email.
Re: Medical Attention
there is no rule. THe only rule is that a law suit must be started within two years. As for the treatment, the longer you wait the worse your case looks. One who is in pain usually seeks medical treatment ASAP. If you are seeing a chiro, then you have shown that you were in pain immediately after the accident.
