Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania

roommate attack

My son was having problems with his room mate at college. Minor disputes over seemingly stupid stuff. On our side the other room mate was unplugging my sons stuff, leaving the window open allowing rain and snow to come in on my sons desk and computer, unplugged his cable for two weeks, etc. They had both apparently asked to be separated to other rooms weeks ago to no avail. Last week upon returning to his room my son found his computer and other things unpluggged again. When my son started to unplug his room mates stuff that was in his outlets a scuffle occured and his room mate struck him over the head with a steel pipe causing a trip to the ER by ambulance and 6 staples in his head. State troupers were called but he did not press criminal charges against him. There will be medical expenses out of pocket (we have a deductible). How to procced now? Pursue to have roommate pay medical bills? Pursue whether college is liable in anyway for ignoring their request to be moved?

Re: roommate attack

It sounds as if you have a claim against both the student AND the university for failing to provide adequate security after his complaints. Definitely give me a call on my direct line: 267.639.3105, or e-mail me directly at [email protected]. Even if he did not press charges, there will be a police report. It is important to act quickly on this matter because the school will do everything it can to minimize damages.
