Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Adding Spouses Name to Property

What needs to be done to add a wife's name to a property (single family home) that is in the husband's name only? Is there just a fee or does the property have to have a title search, etc. done again? What would the approx. fee be to do this? Thank you for your help.

Re: Adding Spouses Name to Property

Good news is there isn't much of a recording fee.

As the grantor (Husband) is part of the Grantees (Husband and Wife). Assuming the Husband had title insurance to satisfy a bank the title is still good. Then again if it wasn't H&W suing H seems a tad pointless.

All you need is a new deed which is not a tough legal job. That said no one is going to tell you here what it will cost. For that call one of us on Monday.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.
