Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Breaking the lease legally due to relocation

I have found a new job in another state. I gave my landlord 30 days notice. He called back and said that I was obligated to pay the remaining two months of rent. Is there a law in Pennsylvania that allows me to legally break my lease agreement due to job relocation?

Re: Breaking the lease legally due to relocation

In Pa. there is no law allowing for the breaking of a lease for relocation purposes. If a lease is for less than one year, fifteen days notice is required to terminate. If one year or more, notice required is thirty days. A written lease that has a notice provision in it overrides the statute.
