Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania
There is a building that has been empty for a few years. A beautiful building that deserves to be converted into a restaurant. I have an uncommon scenario. What is the likelihood, or even legality of the following agreement I would like to propose.
Current rent being offered is 14$/ sqft. I would like to know whether I could ask the current realtor/landlord whether I can occupy this space at a SEVERE discount. (such as under a dollar) On possibly a 6 month basis. Or for one year..but agree that if someone comes along who would like to use the space we will agree to release the space together to this new tenant.
My thinking is at least this way the landlord is making SOMETHING no matter how insignificant and then I can plan the space to see how I can use it. Crazy?

Any thing is possible. It never hurts to ask. The worse thing that can happen is that your offer would be turned down with no counter offer.
