closing costs

I just sold a property, the title co. for the buyer, did not pick up water bills in excess of $5000.00. I was unaware of water bill. Now the title co. and the buter wants the money back . I'm legaly entitled to return the money even though it was there mistakes. thx Vince

yes you have to return it because you probably signed affidavits saying that the property is free and clear and you will indemnify the title company and the buyer if something else comes up.
