Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Condo association is billing me 2500.00 to replace a hallway carpet, they claim I damaged. I was not there on the date in question. They want to place a lien on my condo. Don't they have to prove their case in court, and prove I caused the damage? Can they just bill me like that with no proof? Can they place a lien on my property?

You should read the condo rules and regulations. generally the condo association can elect to obtain damages for failure to pay condo assessments and for violations of condon rules and regs. Generally they have to bring a legal action and you can contest it. I would suggest you meet with an attorney to discuss the facts that pertain to your situation. if you would like to schedule a consultation with my office call me at 215 322-2100
