estate

in my grandmothers will the house she owned was to go to her children and her children's children. none of my relatives are interested in the house. i have been paying taxes on the house. how can i get the house in my name

Is your grandmother still alive? If so, she could deed the property to you.

If she died, her estate should be administered. Her will should be submitted for filing to the Register of Wills in the County where she lived. When a personal representative or Executor is appointed by the Register, that person should follow the steps required to administer the estate, including paying all debts and taxes.

If all of the heirs and the beneficiaries named in the will agree, everyone can sign a Family Settlement Agreement and a Deed, transferring the house to you.

You probably need an estates lawyer to help with the estate administration and the transfer of the property.
