Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Can I evict Daughter?

My mother-in-law allowed her daughter to move in temporarliy with 2 children. She will not leave. She gave her 30 days to leave and she refuses. Does she have a legal foot to stand on? Can we just kick her out?

Re: Can I evict Daughter?

You should first try to call the police and tell them the story. They may assist or they may refuse to get involved. You have the right to throw them out and change the locks you may due so. They are trespassing on the property. However, if violence or a breach of the peace will result, I suggest you consult legal counsel and have her evicted. This is a difficult situation and I believe there are more facts involved than are set forth in your question. I suggest you proceed only with the police or legal counsel who will review this matter in greater depth. Gerald Hershenson Esq. 215-579-9390
