Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania
trying to find peace
my parents bought mobile home and land in 1979 sold it to me (their daughter) and ex husband in 1995 for $1.00 as stated in deed. he left in 2000, has not helped pay any property taxes, repairs, etc. he told me to go have a new deed drawn up and he would sign if i agreed to drop child support, the deed is sitting at the lawyers since feb,2006.
our 2 children and i have been living in the home and i have been paying for the taxes and maintaining the upkeep, is he responsible for anything at all, if so what can i do and how can i get him to sign off?..i want out from under his thumb and im sickened by his intimidation.

Consult with your attorney. A Court will not recognize an agreement not to pay support. It is unenforceable. Unless you can get him to sign the Deed as part of a divorce settlement, you would have to force a sale of the premises. Better consult with your attorney as to the proper path to take.
