Forcing A House Sale

I and a friend own a house together - 50/50. If I want/need to sell and the friend does not want to, what are my options? Can I force the house to be sold?

I suggest you consult with legal counsel. You can bring an action in partition to force a sale. It is a very expensive process. Usually a threat of bringing such an action will result in a settlement.
