Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania
harrassment from neighbors
Our neighbors who live below us have been harrassing us since the day we moved in (i.e., leaving threatening letters at our doorstep on the first day of move in reminding us of quiet hours and to "not start out on the wrong foot!"). But most of all, they yell obscene names at us through the floor including calling myself a "whore" and my boyfriend an "asshole" as she screams it so we can hear it. We cannot walk down the hallway without her banging on her ceiling and threatening us to call the police because we are too noisy (although she has never confronted us about this). We filed a complaint of harrassment with the police and our management. We have 3 months left in our lease, but we want out now!! I cannot live with this harrassment day in and day out. Please help us and provide us with a law that refers to something regarding unability to live peacefully in our apartment.

Re: harrassment from neighbors
There is an implied warrenty of quiet enjoyment that goes with your lease. If the landlord does not control the neighbor problem, and the problem is within his control, he breaches the implied warrenty and you can terminate your lease. It would seem that three months to cure is enough.
