The home that I am renting is in forclosure and going to sherrifs sale in Jan 2011.I put the rent in escrow and the owner has my last month & security deposit.The morgage has not been paid for a month.I live in Pennsylvania.Can I sue the owner for my back rent?How long can I stay in the property before I would get avicted? Thanks

Good luck with trying to get your money back from the owner. If he's not paying the mortgage, he probably doesn't have your last month's rent and security deposit. It's worth writing a letter to him demanding the return [although technically you do not yet have the right to the return if the lease term is not up yet]. Send the letter certified mail, return receipt requested, and also regular mail.
You may stay in the home until the bank or the buyer at the foreclosure sale gets a judgment against your for eviction or ejectment, and then gets a court order permitting it to execute [implement] the judgment. You should get notices of the foreclosure action, and any action for eviction or ejectment, including copies of the judgments.
