Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania
Home Seller's Rights
I recently listed my home with a R.E. agent. The sign was up for about 2 weeks and then I decided not to sell. I'm under a 6 month contract. I called the agent and told her that I had taken the sign down. She said that the only thing that they asked was that I NOT list with any other R.E companies. I didn't and wouldn't do that. But people are still coming to see the house. And I got an offer for the full price of the house. The agent brought all the paperwork to me and went over it. I did not sign anything except the original sales agreement. She knows I don't want to sell the house.
Should I send them (the agency) something in writing stating that I won't sell and that I have no intention of of listing with another agency. Can I be sued by the person who offered me full price? Thank you for any info you can give me.

Re: Home Seller's Rights
You should place your concerns in writing to that of the RE agency. In your letter make sure you state that as of what date you wanted your house withdrawn from the market. Also include your previous verbal conversations on this matter and with whom you had them. It is unlikely that you will be sued on this matter, but in the unlikely event it were to occur, you would have your cancellation of your contract in writing.
If anything else were to occur contact my office at your earliest convenience.
