Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Join ownership of home, unmarried splitting couple

I build a home with my boyfriend 3 years ago. We build it ourselves, physically. He did most of the muscle work, I did most of leg work and have kept the house and property in beautiful condition for the past 3 years. We both are on the deed. We have the house for sale originally for financial reasons, but now also because we are splitting up due to several reasons including alcohol and immaturity. I no longer want myself or my 2 childern (previous marriage)around these problems. If I have to leave, what rights do I have to the profit of the home?

Re: Join ownership of home, unmarried splitting couple

you ownership has nothing to do with where you live. As long as you are on the deed, he cannot sell without you. However, if you move away, it becomes difficult to know what is going on.
