Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania
Landlord eviction for rejection of sexual harrasment
I was given the opportunity to open a smll business by a man I was introduced to by a 3rd party. We have a written contract, with a clause that includes repairs on the building. I was charged $5,000 for the repairs (electrical, plumbing, gas, asphalt, other cosmetic work) and agreed to pay this money in addition to the rent. However, the lease stated that the front sidewalk would be repaired and it has not been. On Christmas Day, my landlord/employer sexually harrassed me in front of several people and continues to do so. I rejected his suggestion to ''swap'' spouses (he wanted to sleep with me in exchange for my husband sleeping with his wife). The next day, he threatened to sue me and has now evicted me from the building and filed suit against me. Is there any way I can countersue on the basis of rejection of sexual harrassment?

You may have grounds for a countersuit for some other type of legal redress.
You cannot simply evict from a lease without some merit, it appears there must be more facts here than presented.
Sexual harrassment is typically only addressed when it is between an employer and employee or supervisor to employee, it does not appear that this type of relationship existed between you and your landlord.
I would need more details before I could provide you with any more information.
Should need to utilize an attorney my office does provide a free initial one hour consultation to all new clients.
